North Pennines Run

Posted by ColinSteer On November - 30 - 2012 Comments Off

This was the second running of this event, well organised by Stan Harper. Starting at Hartside Cafe we ventured out east of Eden onto virtually empty roads in gloriously undulating countryside, well away from the hustle and bustle of mid-August in’t Lakes.

Our Treasurer David, leading a gaggle of machines.

The Lakeland Weekend

With over 80 participants we enjoyed another successful year in the new venue at Keswick Rugby Club. Some photos of the start and out on the road.

A beautiful Beezer, regularly ridden.

John Bell cruising serenely along on his lovely Cheney-Triumph.

Mick Driver doing just that. I was a bit slow taking this shot as half a second before, he had the inside front wheel “pawing” the air.

I believe this to be John Silcock being chased by “Pops” Hinde.

John Robinson on his very fine BSA.

The B-S Club were out in force on the same day and popped-in to see us at lunchtime. Seven of them, if you discount the odd Norton.

98 entrants from all over the country assembled for this year’s event, held in glorious sunshine which sadly didn’t last all year, here are some shots of the start.

General view up the green from the start with some known faces in view.

A very nice Sunbeam

And an equally attractive Norton

Our thanks to David, Marion, Paul and the team for all of  their efforts in organising an outstanding event.
